I unfortunately reached out to Sammy Ezion on December 9, 2020. I was in the process of hiring artists for artwork for an app I was creating. I found Sammy on Instagram and I thought the artwork their was very appealing and would be a great fit for my app.

Beware of commissioning Sammy Ezion.

I had very specific piece of artwork I wanted Sammy to create, an image of my father-in-law in his U.S. Airforce flight suit in front of his fighter plane. I provided Sammy with the image, the exact dimensions I wanted the image to be and I shared with him the timeline was flexible. I shared with Mr. Ezion I would credit him as an artist in the app. Mr. Ezion signed the contract on December 10, 2020.

I then paid Sammy 1/2 the balance for the artwork, just like I had done for every other artist I worked with. I also let Mr. Ezion know the timeline was flexible – I was not asking him to complete the artwork within a week, or even a month. I wanted to give him, the artist, flexibility and the time to create something awesome. Plus I was developing the app on my own so I need time to write and test all the code.

JANUARY 2021

I followed up with Mr. Ezion a month later in regards to progress, on January 9, 2021. It took him until January 26th to provide me a sketch. That was a huge warning sign I should be careful to pay attention to. No other artist I worked with needed over 40 days to draw just the sketch.

FEBRUARY 2021

I again followed up with Mr. Ezion on February 28 requesting a date for completion. At this point it had been almost 3 month since he was hired. He gave want turned out to be another empty promise of finishing the work up by March 15th.

MARCH 2021

In March Mr. Ezion was again full of excuses and empty promises. He promised to have the artwork done by the end of the month. I was surely the fool in believing his word at this point. It had been almost 4 months. At this point I should have requested a refund, but I had faith in him.

APRIL 2021

In April I expressed my concerned to Mr. Ezion about all the missed deadlines and that this project with him had been going on for more than 4 months. Although the schedule was flexible, his excuses and constant requests for extensions was ridiculous. Again, I should have ended the contract then and requested my money back. On April 21st Mr. Ezion sent me a colored sketch, again not really a lot to happy about since it took so long to get.

I think this is part of Mr. Ezion’s technique, provide just enough of a rough sketch to keep the customer believing that he would eventually complete the artwork. The whole time he was just running out the clock as to where the PayPal would not fulfil a request for a refund. I was far too trusting with Mr. Ezion at this point.

MAY 2021

In May Mr. Ezion continued with the scam by promising the artwork on May 5th all the time knowing he was never going to produce the artwork.

As expected I received no completed artwork from Mr. Ezion on May 5th.

JUNE 2021

When I reached out to Mr. Ezion in June regarding status he stopped replying to my emails altogether. That is when it finally hit me that he was just a scam artist and that he played me. It was too late to get a refund from PayPal – believe me I tried! Mr. Ezion knew this at he just took my money and totally ghosted me.

I went to his Instagram and I discovered he had even blocked my business account! If I wasn’t sure before he was a scammer I surely knew now. I had only recourse which was to spam his Instagram account from my personal account, which I surely did! That action got a quick response from the scammer Mr. Ezion – somehow after that he was able to remember me and respond to my email.

In summary, Mr. Ezion was not pleased with my comments on his IG, blamed his delays on me (making it up that I changed the requirements – which I did not), stated that the timeline was flexible (even though he made numerous promises for months to have the work complete), proclaimed he did not block my business account on Instagram (which was a lie – he surely did) and said he was busy with other clients and that he could not reply to email due to reasons “he could not reveal.”

On top of that, he then proclaimed he could magically finish the artwork by the end the month and I was to then send him the balance. The audacity of Mr. Ezion is unmatched.

So that is my experience attempting commission digital artist known as Sammy Ezion. He gave me the run around, lied to me and stole my money. I hope that you consider my experience before you commission him for anything. There are multitudes of talented, honest artists on social media showcasing their portfolio hoping to get some commissions to earn money and earn some recognition to grow in their artistry. Dishonest people like Mr. Sammy Ezion make it harder on those true artists and people like me who are seeking them out. I hope this site at least saves one person from Mr. Ezion and helps that person find a honest, reputable artist.
